The Superior Court of California, County of Tuolumne, is located in the historic downtown area of beautiful Sonora, California. Dating back to 1848, Sonora was once a thriving mining town during the height of the California Gold Rush. Sonora, also known as The Queen of the Southern Mines, is surrounded by mountainous wilderness and various historical points of interest, including Columbia, Jamestown, Tuolumne City, Twain Harte, Mi-Wuk, and Groveland. Sonora is located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, approximately 110 miles east of San Francisco, and provides convenience access to both Yosemite National Park and the Stanislaus National Forest.
